This archery education course will provide a student with a wealth of knowledge regarding equipment, proper hunting methods, responsibilities, and general safety. This classes may have some outdoor exercises. You must attend both evenings of the Zoom classes and the Skills & Exam day in order to receive your certification.

Total Course = ~ 8 Hours                              Bowhunter-Education

  •    Laws = 30 MinutesIFW1
  •    Equipment = 2 Hours
  •    First Aid & Survival = 2 Hours
  •    Map & Compass = 1 Hour
  •    Ethics, Landowner Relations = 2 1/2 Hours
  •    Additional time as needed

This Virtual Course consists of about approximately 4.5 hours of Zoom online instruction broken up into 2 two hour Zoom sessions followed by an abbreviated Skills and Exam day. Students are required to complete the online portion at bowhunter-ed.com/maine. Students must demonstrate to the instructors that they can maintain a proper attitude, safely participate in activities, bring in a State required survival kit with appropriate contents and pass a 50 question exam with a grade of at least 70%.

The course begins with one 2-hour night on September 21, 2020 from 6PM – 8 PM . The second class occurs on Wednesday September 23, from 6PM – 8 PM. The Skills & Exam day is on October 3rd from 9am-noon at the BQMC in Turner. You must attend ALL THREE sessions in order to receive your certificate.   The course fee (10.00) will be collected at the Skills & Exam day. Any student under the age of 18 must have the registration card completed at the skills & exam day or voucher signed by a parent or guardian.  Please be sure to register online by selecting the [REGISTER NOW] button above  and follow the instructions to complete individual registrations.  Make sure you fill in all fields. After you have registered I will send an email with the link and pass code to attend both Zoom sessions.If you register and then find that you cannot make it, please notify us so another person can take your seat.

  1. I have been hoping that there would be a class offered near Canton. Is there some way I can do this class with out the first Zoom meeting. I have no issues with all the rest of the requirements. My wife is have knee replacement surgery in Portland September 21. The surgery isn’t until 2:30 PM . I doubt that we will be back in Canton in time.

    • Hello Art, in order to receive your certification you will need to attend all sessions. I’m not certain if you watching the recorded session will suffice but I will say when I send you the link to the Zoom sessions this week, you can attend on a laptop or smartphone . Let me see what I can do. All the best for your wife’s procedure.
